Jesus – The Coming King

How would you describe the state of our world today, harmonious, or in a state of complete turmoil?

It is our continuing disobedience of God that is the cause.

What can man do about it?

What can you do about it?

These are very relevant questions. There are answers and these are to be found in the pages of the Bible, God’s instruction manual for life. The Bible tells us that our world will be very different when the Lord Jesus Christ walks this earth again, as he did 2000 years ago in fulfilment of God’s plan for us.

His very name “Christ” means “anointed”, and this was the way in which a person was identified in olden times as a king in Israel, by having his head anointed with oil.  When Pilate the Roman governor asked Jesus at his trial – ”Are you a king then?” Jesus replied - “You say that I am a king. I was born and came into the world for this one purpose, to speak about the truth. Whoever belongs to the truth, listens to me” (John 18:37 GNB) Though Pilate put a title over Jesus as he hung on the cross – “The King of the Jews” (Luke 23:38), we are told that the kingdom he will rule over will be far reaching in the world.  Psalm 72 says – “His kingdom will reach from sea to sea, from the Euphrates to the ends of the earth.  All kings will bow down before him, all nations will serve him.” (Psalm 72:8 GNB).   Yes, God has promised that His son will become the king of the whole earth, and that is what this panel is about.

On the left hand side you will find 3 passages from the Bible tell us that God has promised that Jesus Christ will return, and on the right hand side, what he will do when that happens.  In summary – Jerusalem is to become the capital of God’s kingdom on earth, there will be world peace and justice for all, there will be a new way of life to experience.

You may ask -  “ what is God’s purpose in doing all this?”   Move on to the web page dealing with the next exhibition panel and see.
